[while'd] 2.0 (post jam version) is here!
Hey guys! as promised, we have updated [while'd] in order to introduce in the game some of the feedback given by the community during the Ludum Dare 47 jam. This version does change some aspects of the User Experience but it does not impact a lot in the gameplay. Here are the changes introduced on this version:
Diffculty Balance update
Breaking a rule will now make the player re-start the level from that particular rule instead of from the beginning. Meaning, if the players breaks rule 1, he/she will have to start the level from the first rule (like previously) but, if he breaks the third or second rule, he/she will be able to re-do the level from those rules. So, now, instead of removing the progress from the player after a failed attempt, it’s up to him/her to control its progress.
Tutorial Tips added to the first two runs
Two tutorial tips have been added in order to let the player know about the rules of the game more directly.
Death Marker
A death marker has been added to let player know which rule is breaking when failing.
Level 3 revamp
Level 3 has been updated and the platforms now move with the player (a really silly thing that should have been present in the game since the first day). Aslo these platforms are now SOLID (player can't traverse them) so the level has changed a bit. Give it a try!
Code fixes
A lot of bug fixing and code improvements have also been added. Build should be more stable in both Browser and PC. For a better experience we highly recommend the PC build. Also cheat key has been changed from F1 to F2 to adress the Chrome issue (F1 = help tab).
and last but not least...
Yup, rule screens can be skipped now :).
